We made it home late last night. Charlotte slept well. She woke without much of an appetite for food.
It feels so good to be home. We started the day not doing much of anything but it was a great feeling! Charlotte FINALLY decided she wanted to eat. She LOVES the brownies at Croutons, a sandwich place in Bend. I made her a deal, if she ate a turkey sandwich she would get a brownie. But she didn’t just want one, she wanted two (with her little fingers showing me how many) ITS A DEAL!! She and I hopped in to the car and halfway there, she started vomiting. I pulled over as fast as I could to help her. It just kept coming. She carries a blanket everywhere we go so I was able to use that, but her dress was covered. I wasn’t prepared and didn’t have anything extra for her. Luckily a pair of Eleanor’s pajamas were in the seat and I was able to give her a shirt to wear. We turned around to head home, without her food or brownies. I felt so awful, she was finally hungry. We made it home with one more incident on the way,but as soon as we got to the house, I gave her more anti nausea meds.
We sent our cousin to grab the food and she constantly asked for brownies, every minute to five minutes lol. When it arrived, she scarfed the sandwich down, ate half of 1 brownie and was done. I showed her the trailer to the minion movie and asked if she wanted to see it. She yelled “NO!” Shortly after that she asked if we could go and eat popcorn. Of course we couldn’t say no.
After her nap we got ready and headed to Sisters movie house. It was all of our first time there. On the way she started to throw up again. Even though she seemed miserable, she still wanted to make the movie. She watched the whole thing in my lap, with the occasional smile. Afterwards she asked if we could get ice cream. I frantically googled ice cream in Sisters and found BJ’s. She sampled a few and chose the sherbet in a cone. It was the sweetest thing watching her enjoy it. A genuine smile with lights in her eyes. A moment to treasure!!
Half way home, she fell asleep. For her, it was a busy day.
We are beyond blessed to share these moments with our baby girl. I pray so hard for many more to come.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV)
